Australia’s Biggest BBQ encourages people and organisations to host a BBQ at home, at work, or in the community to support families experiencing sudden and tragic loss.

It is simple to get involved. Register your BBQ, invite your guests, and help make a meaningful difference.

When a loved one goes to work and never comes home, families are left facing unimaginable grief.

Too often, that grief is compounded by immediate financial pressure. Rent or mortgage payments do not stop. Bills continue to arrive. Groceries are still needed. At the very moment families should be given space to grieve, many are forced to worry about how they will survive the weeks and months ahead.

Australia's Biggest BBQ exists, so we can raise much needed funds to change that.

This April, we have a big goal of raising $500,000 to provide practical, immediate support to families at the most critical time of grief.

There are more families needing support, and there is more help we can give together.

The Foundation is fully run on a volunteer basis, meaning that ALL funds raised through Australia’s Biggest BBQ go directly towards easing the financial burden on bereaved families, including:

• Three months of groceries, calculated at $20 per person in the household per day
• $1,500 to help cover essential household bills
• $5,000 towards rent or mortgage payments

Whether you host a small BBQ at home or a large workplace event, every BBQ helps raise awareness and support families when it matters most.

Although The Biggest BBQ can be held at any time throughout the year, we encourage supporters to host their event in April. This timing honours and commemorates Christopher’s anniversary on 1 April, as well as the International Day of Mourning on 28 April, a day of remembrance for ALL workers who went to work and never came home.

The Biggest BBQ will be an annual event dedicated to raising vital funds, increasing awareness, and supporting families impacted by workplace tragedy.
