When a loved one goes to work and never comes home, families are left facing unimaginable grief.

Too often, that grief is compounded by immediate financial pressure. Rent or mortgage payments do not stop. Bills continue to arrive. Groceries are still needed. At the very moment families should be given space to grieve, many are forced to worry about how they will survive the weeks and months ahead.

Australia's Biggest BBQ exists so we can raise much-needed funds to change that.

This April, we have a big goal of raising $500,000 to provide practical, immediate support to families at the most critical time of grief.

The Foundation is fully run on a volunteer basis, meaning that ALL funds raised through Australia's Biggest BBQ go directly towards easing the financial burden on bereaved families, including:

• Three months of groceries, calculated at $20 per person in the household per day
• $1,500 to help cover essential household bills
• $5,000 towards rent or mortgage payments

This timing honours and commemorates Christopher's anniversary on 1 April, as well as the International Day of Mourning on 28 April, a day of remembrance for ALL workers who went to work and never came home.
